Default sizing maxfiles for sybase on hpux

Hello,

Some weeks ago, we migrate a database from 12.0.0.4 to 12.0.0.8 on a
hpux 11i box and the dataserver don't restart. So we modify the
maxfiles parameter from 60 ( default value ) to 1024 and the database
could be restarted.

This update focuses on this parameter but not on the related one ( ie
nfile, nflocks, ...) and now we got a system with maxfiles > nfile
which is a nonsense. So i wonder if someone can tell me if there is a
magic formula for determining maxfiles min value . I think the sybase
parameters 'number of user connections' and the number of used devices
are involved in the formula.

Thanks a lot

Francis
