Default Sybase 8 HELP!!

Morning Sybasers...

I have recently taken up the mantle of supporting and developing on a
system that uses Sybase 8 as its back-end database (upgrade NOT an
option). I am very familiar with databases (having worked with Informix
IDS 9.x and SQL Server 2000 for the last 9+ years) and the general
philosophies and principles regarding data integrity and security.

Now, unfortunately, I need to start writing stored procedures and
administering the database but I am having great difficulty in locating
a decent book that covers Sybase 8 in all its glory.

Can any of you guys/gals please direct me to a web site or book site
that has a number of publications that will help me support this
version of Sybase?

As ever, all help greatly appreciated...

Many thanks

S.

Best is to look into the manuals. I suppose that you mean Sybase ASA 8
since Sybase has more than one database system.
You'll find the manuals at http://sybooks.sybase.com/awg0802e.html.
Besides the html version you often can download the manual in pdf format
and print it out.
