Sybase ruby (& general) driver support

Any Sybase user who has looked at Ruby on Rails must get really
depressed when they find out there is no support for Sybase.

Why don't Sybase get proactive on these things ? Is is starting to look
to me like we would get better 3rd party support if we used something
like Postgresql over Sybase. It would probably take Sybase a few man
months to do this, but they don't so anyone who goes with Rails won't
be using Sybase for the backend.

Someone will eventually write one, but in the mean time many people
will move on. Imagine where Sybase would be if great people like
Michael Peppler hadn't written perl drivers ?

Its a shame ..
