| From the latest ASE patch: Starting from 12.5.1 release, ASE will be supported on Enterprise Linux versions only. I believe this OS is ~$1000. Do you think 12.5.1 will still run on RH 8? Or am I looking at a choice of not upgrading vs. getting my boss to spend money... Thanks, Steve -- Steven J. | I have 12.5.1 running without problem on RedHat 7.2. It is my understanding that it will still run fine on these somewhat 'older' RH Linux versions, though it may not be formally supported. That's not an official statement by Sybase, but just my understanding... | Maybe you should try RH AS 2.1 for a start. I've seen "some" performance differences with the "regular" RH 7.2 (or 7.3/8.0) for 12.5.1 beta. Maybe it's not your choice for a client OS, but for a server OS, it is my # 1 choice.
