Default Input/output error while trying to run Oracle Installer on Linux

I get Input/output error when I run runInstaller on linux ES4.
I do not what is the problem can anybody help me with this ?

Can you give us any more clues - like the error code/message showing on
the terminal or the install log ?
Did you follow all pre installation steps ?
For example, try to run xclock ...
/usr/openwin/bin/xclock
Error: Can't open display:

I did all the pre installation steps.
xclock and xterm is not working for oracle user while it is working for
root.
How can fix it ?

What is the value of the PATH environment variable?

What packages did you install with the operating system?
Which one's didn't you install?

Is the DISPLAY environment variable being set to an incorrect value in
the .profile of the user oracle?
