Why would I want to check out a tool promoted by a spammer. To encourage more spamming? I don't think so. > It's called Xxxxx-Oracle and is available for free > download at: > > http://www.impact-sol.com And a copyright infringement suit too I hope. "About Us" doesn't say where they are, and "Contact Us" just gives an E-mail address. Probably operate out of a tin shack in {Choose the country you're most biased against}. I will definately NOT be replying to jobs@impact-sol.com but I invite all those "people" who trawl newsgroups to find E-mail addresses to spam to do so. Merry Christmas everybody. |

Hans, Hans, Hans, your use and reference to a "scam" isn't exactly true is it? I read their website content. It says (check http://www.impact-sol.com/buy.html) "The free version expires at the end of each month and you must either purchase a license or download it again at the beginning of each month for further evaluation. " This has a ring of familiarity about it. From Quest Softwares website (check http://www.toadsoft.com/downld.html) re Toad it says "The TOAD Freeware version may be used for a maximum of five (5) users within Licensee's organization and expires each sixty (60) days, after which you will need to download and install the product again." Neither companies are scam artists! If you don't like spammers limit your criticism to the spamming. Neither product however is a scam. The approach to pay or use a timebombed version is not unique or unusual. Merry Christmas Barry |

The fact that the spam does not reveal 'evaluation' is the cause of the irritation and label. Based on your information, I reviewed what I wrote and agree it was a bit harsher that necessary. -- Hans Forbrich Canada-wide Oracle training and consulting mailto: Fuzzy.GreyBeard_at_gmail.com *** Top posting [replies] guarantees I won't respond. *** |

It says (spam deleted) I think scam is appropriate. Legitimate vendors don't spam usenet groups and, as Hans says, it has all of the telltale signs of a marketing scam. Here try this. Thank you for your name, affiliation, and contact information. Now we will crank up the sales efforts. Now what I call a legitimate offering and still SPAM. -- Daniel A. Every domain is registered to someone. Every dollar sent to them is deposited in a bank account owned by someone. If Oracle wants them out of business ... and I hope they do ... they can track them down and serve them with papers. Any particular reason you felt compelled to repeat the spammers URL? Speaking for myself: I find that offensive. -- Daniel A. Morgan http://www.psoug.org damorgan@x.washington.edu (replace x with u to respond) |

Quest's current "freeware" TOAD, IMO, is nothing but useless crippleware. Quest has little to fear from this startup, however. The product quality is abysmal. Buggy as hell, terrible UI. There is much better quality freeware available. My 2 cents worth - Happy Holidays -- Randy Harris tech at promail dot com I'm pretty sure I know everything that I can remember. |
