Default slow connect

**** Post for FREE via your newsreader at post.usenet.com ****

got an app that uses Microsoft ODBC of Oracle driver. a test connection
takes 20 - 30 seconds to complete. Can you suggest areas to look at to
resolve this problem?


workstation setup:
Oracle 8.1.7 client
also run Solid DB Client 2.3
Win XP
512 mem
P4 2.8
