Default patchadd/patchrm bug?

I had a problem reported to me (and reproduced it) when using
patchadd/patchrm with the -B option, to specify a backout directory.
Example:

# patchadd -B /tmp/backup 127876-01
...
# patchrm -B /tmp/backup 127876-01
...
The following patches cannot be removed since they were installed
without creating their backout data.

127876-01

The patch installs fine, the backout data (undo.Z) is created in
/tmp/backout/, but the patchrm command fails. I used truss on patchrm,
and it never ever accesses /tmp/backout/. It seems as if the -B option
is ignored completely by patchrm.

While I could workaround the issue by copying the undo.Z file from
/tmp/backout/ to /var/sadm/pkg/, this is a severe problem.

Platform is Solaris 10 with 119254-44 (SunOS 5.10: Install and Patch
Utilities Patch) installed.
