Hi Sami,

Thanks a lot for your reply. bootparamd is running. Please have a look
at my /etc/bootparams file below:

ilamail root=stealth:/mnt/install/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot
install=stealth:/mnt/install boottype=:in
sysid_config=stealth:/mnt/jumpstart
install_config=stealth:/mnt/jumpstart rootopts=:rsize=32768

Thanks,
Rajesh.

Rajesh,

first I assume everything is on one line in /etc/bootparams.

Second I suggest using fully qualified names in /etc/bootparams. If
that doesn't help use the IP address of the installation server.

Don't do that!

Doing this will make it impossible to install more than one machine
from your installation server!

Hi thanks a lot to everyone who replied to my post.

Yes everything in /etc/bootparams is one line. I've tried
using fully qualified domain name, short name & IP address.
No luck at all.

I would appreciate it if somebody can give me a solution to this.
I need to jumpstart quite often.

Thanks,
Rajesh.

That's all??? IMHO there should be at least an NFS packet from the
client.

Well, I've no ideas more. Only some further shots in the dark.

Did you ever install a machine with this installation server?

Maybe you should double check the mini root on your installation
server used by the client ( .../Solaris/Tools/Boot ). Create a new
mini root from the installation cdrom and compare it with the existing
directory.

Maybe root cant mount it?

* How does your share look?
* Whats your bootparams?
* How did you add the client to TFTP?
i.e. did you use the add_install_client script?
if so, from where?
