Sun's Evolution Exchange out of date? FBA problems.

I'm getting frustrated with Sun's JDS3 "Mail and Calendar" app - the
version that shipped with Solaris 10 Update 5, 05/08 release. Version
info would seem to indicate that it's based on (or IS) Ximian Evolution
1.4.6.nn, but now I'm not so sure.

The Evolution Exchange release notes indicate that support for Exchange
OWA Form Based Authentication was added at the 1.4.5 release, but I
*cannot* get Sun's "Mail and Calendar" to work with FBA. It works fine
connecting to our internal OWA system, which uses Basic Auth, but refuses
to work with our external OWA system, which uses FBA to keep the powers
that be happy.

Am I overlooking something setup-wise? Is the included Evolution Exchange
not the updated one with FBA support? And if it isn't, are there any
plans to make the newer FBA-capable one available as a patch, or in the
next release? Anybody know for sure?
