I can see a use for pg_relation_size when used on an individual index, but the total of all indexes on a relation seems of little real use to me (and is relatively easily calculated if it really is required for a more specialised purpose). To me, that's internal implementation detail, and should be counted as toast table size too. The user doesn't create the toast index like regular indexes. -- Bruce Momjian | http://candle.pha.pa.us pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 359-1001 + If your life is a hard drive, | 13 Roberts Road + Christ can be your backup. | Newtown Square, Pennsylvania 19073 ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 3: if posting/reading through Usenet, please send an appropriate subscribe-nomail command to majordomo@postgresql.org so that your message can get through to the mailing list cleanly |
