Hi Ankur,

Are you accessing the PostgreSQL server from the same machine, or your
VB program is running on another machine? If your client is in another
machine you might need to get it authenticated by creating an entry in
PG_HBA.CONF. The problem does not look like it's related to PG_HBA.CONF
because PgAdmin III is working properly.

BTW, did you use the windows installer? If possible provide the code
where exactly you are getting the error. Also check whether the ODBC
driver was installed properly, and check the ADO connection String.
