Default boot error:allowable number if mount pts

Dear all,

I am facing a problem with solaris 9.Please any help will be greatly
appreciated.I keep getting the following error message:

"mount: /dev/dsk/variable is already mounted, /variable is busy, or
allowable number of mount points exceeded"

where variable = /c0d0s0 or something of that sort. I am trying to get
into the system, but it keeps looping , and outputing that error
infintely.

I suspect that the problem is coming from the fact that I saved some files
in the / (root) director, and solaris is gettting confused? not sure;Has
anyone faced this problem before, and if so how can i fix it.

Many thanks.

Omon
