Default Disksuite database replica question when upgrading from Solaris 8to Solaris 9

When upgrading from Solaris 8 to Solaris 9, I ran into the problem on
handling existing disksuite replica. My current solution is to delete them
and then re-create them using metadb -l to resize, since I have them and
file system co-exist on the same slice.

My question is:

Is there a way to convert solaris 8 version replica directly to solaris 9
version replica? Something like playing with mddb.cf etc ...

Thanks.
