Default Help with cfgadm failure

Hi,

I have a V880 connected to an IBM FastT700 via a cisco switch using JNI
FCX-6562-L cards

>From the cisco side, zoning appears correct and I can see the ports of

the Fastt700 as well as the HBA ports in the V880.

The disks on the FastT700 are also configured and mapped to the wwpn's
of the V880.

Trouble is that when the V880 is booted, the device entries are lost
and I have to rerun cfgadm -c configure to get the disks back and
available.

Also the cfgadm command always takes ages to complete and I get the
following message

library error: failed to create device node: 200300a0b8121e85: invalid
argument

Every time I run it and no c8t0d0s0 type entries are created.

I can mount the disks manually via the command

mount /dev/dsk/c8t200300A0B8121E85d1s0 /data

can anyone assist or point me in the right direction.

Thx

Rob

Default Re: Help with cfgadm failure

I kinda remember some option to configure your WAN to be static or
something like that so devices wont' jump around with each reboot.

Also, if your system have problems memorizing stuff, it may be worth it
to boot off cdrom and check root fs.
