| I have been reading andresearching this connectivity issue for the past couple of days. I have a few questions if anyone can help me with them that would be great. How would I be able to find out that which enthernet control has the IP binded to it? (ifconfig?) How would I assign another IP address to the other ehternet card for redundany or is there a software that I could install in Sun Solaris 0 which will put the other ethernet on standby or something so that if the first ethrnet faisl than the IP will flip over to the other ethernet controller? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated? What exactly is IPMP? Do I have to have two sepearete IP adresses in order to create redundancy or just assign one IP which we usually do at the time of installing the OS and leave the other ethernet controller alone and do some configuration in /etc/hostname and the IP will failover to the other ethernet controller? Any help would be great. thanks a illion folks. |
