Kindly advise.
If one has to migrate from an
IBM mainframe 2064 MIPS to a Sun then:
which would be the appropriate Sun Fire and
how many CPUs would it need to have?

Hi!

Whell I don't know anything about IBM mainframes, but try to chek:
http://www.sun.com/datacenter/mainframe/, there is a lot of stuff about
migrating from Mainframs to Sun.
And I can see there is a comparson of IBM Mainframs to Sun Fire serveres
at: http://www.sun.com/servers/highend/s...rformance.html

I hope it will help You

Er der nogen der mangler en mand med lidt viden om Sun HW og SW,
så må I gerne sende mig en E-mail.
Jeg er uddannet datamatiker og har senest arbejdet som teknisk presale
konsulent.

Personally, I would have thought that for a job of this size, Sun would
have provided appropriate consultancy/presales support.

After being targeted with gigabytes of trash by the "SWEN" worm, I have
concluded we must conceal our e-mail address. Our true address is the
mirror image of what you see before the "@" symbol. It's a shame such
steps are necessary. ...Charlie
