You're supplying an absolute minimum of information; e.g. SPARC or X86,
SCSI or IDE, Solaris version, etc.

So I'll supply an absolute minimum of information

run "format" It will present you with a list of disk devices. Select
the one you want work with. Decide how many slices you want and how big
each should be. Make it so.

Before that, however, run "devfsadm" or "format" won't find the disk.
