Default Prices for sun sparcstation IPC and Sparcstation 1

Hello,
I have 2 sparcstation IPCs and 1 sparcstation 1+ that I have been tasked
with disposing of; does anyone know where
I can find accurate pricing info for these?
Thanks,

Search the completed items on Ebay to get the current fair market value.

You can do what most liquidators do--scan eBay for similar items or put
it up on eBay and see how high it goes. If you accurately describe the
HW and what it comes with, include picture, you'll either get responses
or not.

Don't expect it to be worth much. Most of the non-Ultra SPARC systems
were about $100 or so. Shipping would be expensive, especially if you
include the monitor.

Hmm, some ancient low-end workstation hardware that is 14 years old?
I saw a few eBay listings for $1-3 that didn't have any takers.

They've already gone through the nostalgia phase, and are to the point
where there's way more around than anybody wants.

I think you'll be lucky to get ten bucks.

Auction them in Ebay, with a starting price of $1. If you're
lucky, you might even get a taker.

I can give you a reasonably accurate figure - zero.

18-months or so ago I see people saying on newsgroups "free IPC, must
pick up" or similar. They really have no value, and are best put in a bin.

Sorry if that disappoints you, but there is no doubt a lot of people
(myself included) who have thrown them in the bin.

I sell IPA IPX class systems occasionally on e-bay. They usually go for
15-25 uk-pounds in working condition, and loaded with sun-os / solaris.

Cheers.

But more likely he will get no takers, and still have to pay eBay!!

You surprise me there - I hate to guess why anyone would want to buy
one. I just had a look at the completed auctions on eBay *UK* for IPX's

http://search-completed.ebay.co.uk/s...tyZ1 QQsotrZ2

and see one failed to sell with a starting prince of $0.99, another
failed to sell with a starting prince of $4.99, yet one did sell in
France for EUR 15.5

I see an Ultra 1 sell for 20 UK pounds a couple of months back, which I
must admit did surprise me.

I see someone trying to sell some SS20's with 150 MHz HyperSPARCs and
128 MB of RAM, and was unable to sell any of the ten he had, despite
starting at 20 pounds.
