| We need to place a Sun Blade 100 in a 19" rack and provide a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for it. We'd like to provide the extra Sun keys on the left hand side of the keyboard as well. I've found the Shark Rack Series 2 pivot mount kit for a full sized Sun keyboard <http://www.sharkrack.com/index.php/product_details/product_ID/19.html> Has anyone used one of these? Is there something else we should be looking at? -- Jeff Wieland |

I've not used one -- but a friend has (not sure of the brand), and he has this warning: The Sun keyboard is right-hand end out when in the rack, and the "suspend" '(!)' key is right where your thumb falls gripping the keyboard to pull it out. I would suggest adding a booster spring under the key, or a piece of shim stock under it, to keep it from being unintentionally depressed. Especially since the Sun Blade 100 can only be suspended, and not re-awakened, thanks to the USB keyboard interface. Why do so many of the rack mounted keyboards have trackballs??? The ones that I can find with touchpads have two buttons, not the necessary 3. Stupid, stupid... -- Jeff Wieland |

Editing either /usr/openwin/lib/speckeysd.map or /etc/default/sys-suspend would probably be easier if you're willing to live without using the key for suspending. -- Darren Dunham ddunham@taos.com Senior Technical Consultant TAOS http://www.taos.com/ Got some Dr Pepper?
