| Hello Maybe someone from this group has experience with connecting SE A1000 to a Linux box based on Intel platform. Browsing the net I’ve found HBA SCSI: - Qlogic QLA1041 lub Qlogic QLA 240D - Adaptec AHA-2944UW Do you think that they will solve my problem? Pawel |

| As long it's differential SCSI you will see a (predefined) LUN. Don't know wheter RM6 will work on LINUX for configur-ing it Good luck with it.. ( symbios has also Dual Diff PCI SCSI cards which are oem-ed to SUN) that work also at x86... How would you configure the A1000 ? To operate the A1000 Diskarray you need to RUN the "RM6" array manager software to configure RAID-sets and LUN's on the A1000. I dont think that software is ported to LINUX. So unless you have a Sparc/Solaris box to run RM6 on to configure the A1000 before you try to attach it to the linux box, I would not attempt to do it. |

It would be interesting to reverse engineer the protocol. They are just SCSI commands, you could do various things in the GUI and see what comes over the wire. /fc |
