| Hi everyone, I've obtained a Solaris 10 pack. Couldn't use the DVD since my Ultra 10 only has a normal CD-ROM drive, so tried using the first of the four OS CD's. The process went well as the existing Sol 9 installation was analysed for the upgrade but when I selected 'upgrade', and the next step in the process started, the install aborted saying that a utility program it needed wasn't found. I'll need to run the install on a test-machine to see just what the problem is in exact detail, but it made me a little unsure and until I've worked out what happened and how to fix it the machine won't be upgraded. Has anyone else had a similar problem trying to upgrade from Solaris 9 to 10 on an Ultrasparc-II system using the CD's instead of the DVD? I did an upgrade install on my Blade-150 from CDs, which worked fine but took forever. I did an initial install on my Ultra-2 from CDs, which worked fine. -- Andre. I'll try running an upgrade again tonight starting with the 1 of 4 Solaris 10 CD to get exact info on what happens when the problem shows up (if indeed it does - might have just been a once-off glitch in the way the upgrade was being staged).
