Is that 10001 going left to right, top to bottom, or what? Mine does not have the switches, but pearling inside, I think I can see some pads on the pcb that might be for the switches. I'm wondering if Sun have the pads on the PCB, but only put the switches on the export models. If that 10001 goes left to right, I will try joining the traces with a soldering iron. Sun's dealer wants #35 + deliver + VAT for a keyboard. Had they have been willing to accept a credit card over the phone, he would have got my money and I would have had a keyboard on the way. But they are supposed to be sending me a WORD document which I need to fill in and send back. All for #50 or so. If they don't hurry up and send me the quote, my soldering iron might beat them! |

There are 5 switches, and they're set; OFF ON ON ON OFF (Sorry, I got it bass-ackwards.) -- "A computer is a nerd-designed machine for screwdriver addicts." When I switch from the Blade to the Mac the keyboard is disconnected and I get a reboot. I have changed /etc/ default/kbd to relflect the disable, but it still reboots when the keyboard is switched. Any other ideas |

I've pulled the USB keyboard in/out several times. (Mine is a blade 2000, not a 1000, but i'm surprised if the behavior is different). |

The KVM "fakes" the keyboard for the system(s) it's not connected to. I use a "Lightwave 'Server Switch'" with my three Ultra 10s. It's a four port switch in case I feel like connecting my Ultra 5 as well. |

Any other ideas Yeah: don't use a KVM (the network is the computer). -- Rich Teer, SCSA, SCNA, SCSECA, OGB member CEO, My Online Home Inventory URLs: http://www.rite-group.com/rich http://www.myonlinehomeinventory.com |

Putting two keyboards and two LCD's on my desk really makes sense and endears me to my wife. Further the Mac's Aqua GUI really works well across the net to the Blade-2000 running OpenSolaris B72 and vice-versa. Now given the additional information have you got a suggestion? |

It may not be compatible with a Mac however, in which case you'll just have to learn to live with two keyboards, two mice, and two monitors. |
