| If you are using UDF formats then these work just like a large floppy or a painfully slow hard drive. If you are using multisession ISO formats, CDRW discs behave exactly as though you were using write once discs. There is no way to partially erase. It's all or nothing. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> Graham Mayor <>>< ><<> ><<> ehab wrote: > How can I over-write an updated files of a session over an old session > TO avoid full erase of cdw media. |

| OK, but you are splitting hairs - most people think of DirectCD/InCD when discussing UDF formats. The essential point was the bit you snipped - that what was required was not possible. -- <>>< ><<> ><<> Graham Mayor <>>< ><<> ><<> Joerg Schilling wrote: > In article <bfu5nr$ir372$1@ID-88807.news.uni-berlin.de>, > Graham Mayor <gmayor@noonehome.com> wrote: >> If you are using UDF formats then these work just like a large >> floppy or a painfully slow hard drive. > > Not correct, not all UDF filesystems are marked appendable. |

Mkisofs which is partr of cdrtools always writes non-appendable UDF filesystems. >Joerg Schilling wrote: >> In article <bfu5nr$ir372$1@ID-88807.news.uni-berlin.de>, >> Graham Mayor <gmayor@noonehome.com> wrote: >>> If you are using UDF formats then these work just like a large >>> floppy or a painfully slow hard drive. >> >> Not correct, not all UDF filesystems are marked appendable. -- EMail:joerg@schily.isdn.cs.tu-berlin.de (home) Jörg Schilling D-13353 Berlin js@cs.tu-berlin.de (uni) If you don't have iso-8859-1 schilling@fokus.fraunhofer.de (work) chars I am J"org Schilling URL: http://www.fokus.fraunhofer.de/usr/schilling ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/schily |
