| Platform Redhat Linux 3.0 ES no patches applied IBM Informix IDS 9.40.UC6 Server is a DELL 2850 6-36GB drives using RAID-10 (raw devices) Using OnBar with ISM as the storage manager Backup media 2 Sony 8mm AIT 100GB drives connected to an Adaptec 3960D Ultra160 SCSI adapter. Each tape drive is connect to a different channel on the Adaptec controller. Onbar backups seem to go ok from what I can tell by looking at the bar_act.log file. I do get some errors in the xbsa.messages file, for example: XBSA-1.0.1 ISM.2.20.UC1.114 4286 Fri May 13 22:48:59 2005 _nwbsa_is_retryable_error: received a retryable network error (Severity 0 Number -13): current request exceeds parallelism Although using ism_show -config parallelism is set to 1. I also get an error in the daemon.log file: 05/13/05 22:56:57 ansrd: Cannot bind socket to connection port in configured port range on system informix-test1. Any ideas? The larger problem is archecker. The backup of the database took all of 25 minutes. Archecker has already taken over 7 hours and still is not done. I have a 9.21.UC4 instance running and it archecks a larger database in 45 minutes. The Onbar/ISM configs of the two systems are as similar as I can make them based upon comparing 9.21 vs 9.40. What should I be looking at? Has anyone else seen a problem like this before? Thanks Peter sending to informix-list |
