Hi,

Is it possible to block for a moment any new distant connection without
stoping Informix server ?

Like "lsnrctl stop" for Oracle database

Hi,

You can try the Quiescent mode by using omonitor.

You also have the commands oninit -s (when ifx is down) or onmode -s.

how about

onmode -c block

this will stop everyone from working and connecting until
onmode -c unblock is executed.
(is made for external backup & restore. check the manual for it.)
