Default CDI recent Duplications

I have recently received some copies of some nasty e-mails regarding the
IIUG on duplication of CDI posts and that the IIUG could not get its act
together

Be advised of the following please:

We on the IIUG pass the e-mails as a FREE service to our members. We cannot
and do not monitor ANY of the content. From time to time we have technical
problems, but as all of you on this list we have full time jobs. We do not
have the time to monitor every post and every duplicate e-mail.

Members of the IIUG Board of Directors read this list on a regular basis,
but they are NOT the same people who manage the IIUG server.

The IIUG server used to be managed by myself, but is currently managed by
the new WEBMASTER - Sam Gentsch and Sam has done an excellent job.

You may reach Sam via e-mail at webmaster@iiug.org

Lastly, the IIUG server has been up for OVER 4 years continuous without a
single day (except due to a hurricane last year that took out the entire
city where the server is currently housed) of no service and is available
on a 24 X 7 basis, so if we are not doing a good enough job for you, I am
sorry, but I am not sure how we can have less downtime than the zero hours
we currently have in the last four years.

As for the complaining, be advised that we are ALL volunteers. If any CDI
readers and/or poster wish to complain about our free service, I am sure
Sam can use your help, so as the saying goes, PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

I am sorry, but as President I put in over 40 hours a week on IIUG related
services including a full time unpaid half-day yesterday for the IIUG to
hopefully secure a new download piece of software which I think was or is
one of the best pieces of database related software I have seen in years
from Rocket Software who now owns Visionary.

If people wish to complain about the free service, I am sure we can always
charge for it to cover the cost of a full time person to administer it or
understand we do our best.

So instead of complaining about it, let us know and we will try within a
reasonable amount of time fix it.
