| Hi, I have the Sun Fire V480 system with 4 CPUs and only 2 CPUs are assigned to Informix DB (because of limitation of using IDS Workgroup ED). I observe that doing off business hour and nobody logon the system. I run a big sql report then run UNIX command "mpstat 2 100" it show that only one CPU assigns to Informix is running full blow. But another second CPU assigns to Informix is sit 99% idle. I wonder why is Informix not able to utilize a 2nd CPU to run one job on both CPUs. I would appreciate any of your input so I can understand better. Thank you --Wayne |
