| Hi, we have a fully paid up support contract, and now need to use it to grab recent versions for Linux. We have had issues with getting updates before so I just wanted to check that I'll be asking for the right things. We need SE, SQL, 4gl RDS and CSDK. We have to run them on RHEL3.0 and RH9. Recently we got a box from IBM with, amongst other things, SE7.25UC6 - this version does not install cleanly on RHEL - errno_h problems. I think this is the most recent, however. We also got CSDK2.81UC2X5 which allows us to compile on RH9 - not yet tried on RHEL but I believe it will work. There is now a CSDK2.81UC3 which I believe supercedes this. We have copies of 4gl 7.20UD1. I believe we need to upgrade to 7.32UC1. This was released March 2003 so is unlikely to support RH9 properly. We have copies of SQL 7.20UD7. I was unable to find any mention of SQL in the release spreadsheet but I believe we need to get 7.32. As with 4gl, this is unlikely to support RH9. Anything I've missed, misunderstood or got dead wrong? Is anyone running RH9 compatible software that can give me an idea of what I really need? -- Scott Burns Mirrabooka Systems Tel +61 7 3857 7899 Fax +61 7 3857 1368 |

| AFAIK this will not work on RH9, at least the SE7.25.UCx doesn't, last time I asked the fix is Q2. Works fine on RH7.3 and the latest Suse though Scott Burns wrote: > > Hi, > we have a fully paid up support contract, and now need to use it to > grab recent versions for Linux. The 7.32.UC1 toolchain works on RHL9 and RHEL3 if you install CSDK-2.81.UC3 last. The problem shared libraries are overwritten with working versions. I'm currently using it on RHEL3 for development and testing. Java support on RHL9 and RHEL3 will continue to be dodgy until IBM decides to get off it's collective ass and step up to the plate to release a JVM that groks NPTL. -- Forte International, P.O.
