Default HDR feedback

Just a little bit of feedback (for those interested). A while back I
posted a reply to an HDR mail, saying that we have loads of problems
with HDR, and I was about to give up on using HDR. We kept loosing
the link between the 2, and I kept rebuilding the secondary server.

We tried crossover cables & dedicated switches to stabalise the network,
but this didn't work - which I couldn't understand, because I had a
dedicated network connection between the 2! The servers each had 2
network cards, 1 on the private network (between the 2), and another on
the public network (which kept dropping & coming back up again).

My gut feel was that the interfaces on each server were affecting each
other. The support engineers disagreed with me.

We finally decided to load the latest patch release (being desperate),
and voila, it solved the problem! I can only guess that a TCP related
patch must have sorted out the problem. It wasn't Informix after all.

On these 2 servers we are running:

Solaris 9 (now with the latest patch release)
IDS7.31FD3

If HDR wasn't good IBM wouldn't be working on putting it in DB2
