Who? A CTO of Information Management and he was not at the Informix
Worldwide Conference in Atlanta? I have not heard of him before but he

Oh dear. Followed the link and got "The IBM developerWorks Web site is
currently under maintenance.
Please try again later."

Perhaps Dr Jhingran has been deblogged?

Be fair, DB2 is only mentioned in his bio where it is citing awards and
patents related to DB2. In the blog text itself no RDBMS is named.

"Dr. Anant Jhingran is a Distinguished Engineer, VP and CTO for IBM's

Information Management is the replacement for the DB2 brand that now
includes INFORMIX AND DB2!
That was mentioned at the Atlanta conference.

"He is responsible for the technical strategy of products and solutions
in databases, content management,,,,"

Databases....that would include Informix then? And he is a CTO for it
and responsible for
technical strategy!

Perhaps he should share the technical strategy with the customer at an
event? Like the worldwide
conference?

Sorry mate but I've spotted him now!

Anant is a friend of IDS. He has been a strong proponent of IDS
enhancements. He just took over the role of CTO for Information Management
with the retirement of Don Haderle.

He used to work with Illustra prior to the Informix purchase of Illustra.

As CTO, his focus is on the global issues of Information Management. That
means how all of the pieces of IBM Information Management work together. It
is not on the specific issues dealing with IDS, DB2, IMS, II, VSAM, etc.
Each of the systems has a lead architect who acts as a CTO for that system.
Can't call him a CTO because they're not an officer of IBM Corp. However,
they function as the CTO and are responsible for driving the technical
strategy. The folks that are responsible for driving the Informix technical
strategy were present at the conference in Atlanta.
