| Hi, I am trying to plan an ugrade process of Informix 9.3 to Informix 9.4 on AIX 5.1. Sorry, I am new to Informix, so my questions may be silly. 1) What is a difference between IDS 9.4 and IDS 9.4 with J/Foundation? Is it possible to upgrade server if 9.3 is not with J/Foundation? 2) During testing installation I received error message "Dependent module /var/adm/ifx_loader_domain/libpam.a (shr.o) could not be loaded. Cannot load module /var/adm/ifx_loader_domain/libpam.a (shr.o)". I suppose Informix needs PAM module to install and start, but I found in documantation that PAM is optional, second strange thing is that /var/adm/ifx_loader_domain is a file in AIX, but the message suggests it should be a directory. 3) Is anybody, who did this upgrade and could give me good advice? Thanks for your answers. Wojtek |

| Hi. You dont need either the java foundation piece or Pam to upgrade.
