The IUGLC was originally set up as a gathering point for the leaders of the
local user groups.

There is no correlation that I can see between a Customer Advisory Council
and a user group leadership council.

I'm not surprised that the recent IIUG boards have seen fit to ignore any of
the leaderships of other local groups. Even in my time on the board it was
difficult to determine any real function for this council other than to
provide a route to local user groups for Informix.

This should be a concern to the Informix community, IMHO. I thought
the IUGLC was to serve as an independent advisory role board, whereas
the CAC is chosen by IBM. And the fact that the IUGLC is called for as
part of the charter means it should be followed. Again - IMHO.
