Kill Update Statistics

Is there any way to kill a running update statistics.

UPDATE STATISTICS HIGH FOR TABLE foo (bar) DISTRIBUTIONS ONLY.

I tried with with onstat -z several times but it runs and runs and seems to
do nothing anyway.

Sorry, I forgot: IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.FC4W2, Number of
rows about 800 million (800,000,000), fragmented by expression.
