| Hi All, We are in the process of upgrading our database sevrers from 7.31 to 9.40. But we are in kind of a unique situation here where we cannot do full testing of the optimizer behaviour in 9.4 as compared to 7.31 as our dev and model environments are nowhere close to production in terms of size of database. So we just want to get an opinion in general how much difference it would be in terms of optimizer behaviour as compared to 7.31 in 9.40 and go ahead with the risk of not testing it in production similar environment. Are the queries gonna take altogether different path as compared to 7.31 in 9.4 or it would be pretty much same. Has anybody who upgraded from 7.31 to 9.4 exeperience dramatic increase/decrease in performance in terms of optimizer behaviour? Any help on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks n regards, Vineet __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi there. I've got two pieces of string here. Which one is longer? One of them is green by the way. |

| Congratulations! You are the proud winner of this year's Sweeping Generalisation prize. Too many differences affecting too many different kinds of queries in too many different ways. Or not at all. Maybe. Test it. |
