Default RE: 1.6 billion lockreqs

Hi,
On this same topic, ....

IDS 9.40.FC3XD
Sun Solaris =SunOS 5.9 Generic_117171-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

ids_unix_relnotes_9.40.txt says:
Maximum locks per Dynamic Server system and database: Dynamic allocation

We were set to 2 million, and I saw lots of dynamically alloc'd lock
messages in onlinelog (SAP upgrade)... Then I saw the 'lock table
overflow'...It appears my "max max" on 9.4 is still 8 million....

I had upgraded from 7.3, and that says:
SERVERS_7.3: Maximum locks per Dynamic Server and database... 8 million

Btw... Any logic behind the directory naming for the release notes:
/informix/PRD/release/en_us/0333
Do people in other countries/languages have something other than
'en_us'? Does everyone have the '0333' directory?...
Is there some interesting tidbit behind this... You know like the shared
mem base address starts with whats-his-names initials...?

Curious, thanks,
Norma Jean

more interesting is the ovlock, which counts the number of times maximum
number of locks has been reached, and the lockwts which counts counts
the number of times sessions waited for a lock.
