Well, that looks good, doesn't it? We're all on IBM's case to publicise IDS
more, and there you go!

I don't quite understand the proposition: is it that you will be able to buy
an IBM x3105 pre-installed with SuSE Ent Linux and IDS 11 (presumably
Express) as an all-in bundle for substantially less than it would cost to
buy the 3 individual components?

Let's hear more of this sort of thing from senior IBMers too: "The IDS data
server provides an environment with low administration needs, which in turn
lowers the total cost of ownership ...." said Arvind Krishna, vice president
IBM data servers (?)

(although he did then rather spoil it by lapsing intoIBM-speak by adding "
... and frees up DBAs to focus more attention on their overall Information
on Demand strategy.")

I think this is very positive. Bring it On!
