sounds like PTS-B#167204:

RETRIEVING INFO FROM DBACCES ABOUT A TABLE WHILE ALREADY LOOKING AT A
TABLE DOES NOT DISPLAY NEW TABLE COLUMNS

Fixed in upcoming 9.40.U|FC5 or 9.40.U|FC4W3 release. You need to
contact tech support to get this release.
