Uhm no, too much work. There you'd have to ensure that you have enough disk
space free to store a copy of your database. ;-)

If I did an insert with a select on a remote system. I'd go directly from
one database to the other.

The I wouldn't have to worry about setting up bothersome meetings with the
BOFH and explain why I need this diskspace. Fill out all that paperwork and
then have to get permission for the charge back of database back to my
department. ... ;-)
