Because you need to keep your physical DBA always on the job to keep the system up. 2) Companies that use Oracle tend to blame their DBAs so that they go through them faster. IDS DBAs tend to move on out of boredom. Or that they don't like their management adding more work outside of the maintenance of IDS. They tend to get stuck with Data Security Manager or Director of Information Security. That sort of thing. 3) Compare the Oracle DBA to the plow horse. Dumb and there to do the job. The IDS DBA is the farmer or the brains behind the operation. No Wait. Did I just compare the Oracle DBA to a Jack ass? Ooops. Maybe I did...
