| Oops kind of missed the point didn't I? We have been working on getting the downloads for the site. And I guess we missed the ball on the download link. I am REAL sure we had a pdf of the announcement on the front page 2/22! http://iiug.org/news/articles/ENUS205-045.pdf So we were not totally inept and oblivious. sending to informix-list |

| Are you sure you're part of the IIUG--the International Informix User's Group? They never admit they're wrong, so I'm not sure you're part of the same group. Damn peculiar that they let you in. 8o) Anyway, it is nice to see the downloads without the crippling and other crap that makes it a less-than-real-deal. It would be cool too to get XPS as a download, but I guess they don't really want people to use it. We got the same functionality in DB2 EEE, but would be interesting to see the difference if any in performance between DB2 and XPS. Of course since I don't have XPS I wouldn't know if it's improved or not. You've been hanging around Stu too long. ;-) > Anyway, it is nice to see the downloads without the crippling and other > crap that makes it a less-than-real-deal. Of course since I don't have > XPS > I wouldn't know if it's improved or not. > Thats a loaded question. ;-) I think what you can expect to see is similar functionality across the database offerings. Think of all the possibilities... merging the code lines may be a nasty problem, but taking the functional specs of certain features and rewriting them for a different architecture isn't as difficult. ;-) But hey, what do I know? - ;-) |
