Rajesh I don't know the situation these days, but in the past Informix has developed on 3 platforms initially and then ported to others. These were Sun, HP and Pyramid (which had a dual universe), and simply because these were the most difficult to develop on. After that, porting to other platforms was a [relatively] simple task. The porting process itself though is like a full development project. You will always get bugs, but I believe the Informix process of old (don't know about IBM), meant you were more likely to see cross-platform issues rather than platform specific problems.
