Correct ... and no doubt will continue to do so. But if the marketsize
is too small they are not going to invest money in it. I will be very
surprised if there are Informix or Sybase versions of most commercial
apps (SAP, PeopleSoft, eBusiness Suite, JD Edwared, Siebel) in 10 years.

How many of the afore-mentioned packages have been bought by Oracle?
One could say that at least two of the packages themselves may not
exist in 10 years -- PeopleSoft and JD Edwards . . . .

Wether that is true or not it won't affect the survival or demise of
Informix. Informix is soon to join the ranks of other "they were once
well loved" databases: For example Pick which can still be purchased.
We have one company here in Seattl still using it to build grocery
store inventory systems.
