| If I remember correctly, the biggest concern of the board was protecting the IIUG members personal information, and IBM had to collect that information for some legal reasons so there was a conflict of responsibilities. Stuart and the Board work very hard to keep our member information private. Which is in line with the Charter: .... Article XII. CODE OF ETHICS A. IIUG membership information shall be kept confidential and shall be used only as approved by the Board of Directors of the Organization. .... Hopefully, that was not a secret, but hell, both sides were in the right in their own way, and a lot of work was put into it by IBM, and a lot of thought and fairly heated discussion by the board. -- Sam Gentsch office (334)768-7039 cell (706)289-6710 -----Original Message----- From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Jean Georges Perrin Sent: Friday, August 18, 2006 11:39 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: Informix in the press... Christine, In your statement, please substitute "Stuart Litel" by "the IIUG Board of Directors", also you description of the process lacks quite some points (and steps!) and a description of the situation! So please, be honest or refrain putting such statement in public. IBM requires that individuals register when they want to download a product.
