As far as I knoW AIX uses TERMINFO and not TERMCAP

Can you try with the below setting:

1) setenv TERM vt100 (or) xterm
setenv TERMCAP $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap
setenv INFORMIXTERM termcap

2) setenv TERM vt100 (or) xterm
setenv INFORMIXTERM terminfo
setenv TERMINFO /usr/lib/terminfo

Our application has been running under SCO Unix with IDS 7.31.UD4. The
terminals are defined as VT220s. The keystroke in question is "Scroll
Lock".
On this system, it works fine.

The new system is AIX 5.2 running Informix 9.4. We cannot get the thing
to
recognize the Scroll Lock key as input. We've tried playing with the
termcap
file, but it didn't help.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
