| Hi, Has anyone had any luck in re-licensing Informix Dynamic 4GL when upgrading server hardware. The software license installed some years ago fails after restoring a backup to the new hardware. Informix tell me they do not have the tools to do it, and refer us to fourjs. Fourjs wont do provide an installation key without paying back maintenance. This software license should not require ongoing fees, to keep it on new hardware. We have even had some machines where the D4Gl license fails when you change the IP address. Now with IBM not providing a service to re-license it any more, we either have to recode and get rid of D4GL or pay fourjs back maintenance, and keep it up to date, just to be able to keep a license we have already paid for. Does any know if IBM has the ability to provide D4GL installation keys anymore? Any suggestions? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Rodney Sheppard Software Engineer - Development Manager Trans-Mit Pty. Ltd. They were quiet willing to take our money when they sold us the software, now it is useless. I don't think there was any doc that said the license was valid for a set period of time. |

It's worth getting in touch with them. -- Ciao, Marco __________________________________________________ ____________________________ Marco Greco /UK /IBM Standard disclaimers apply!
