| U can Art Kagel's dbcopy utility to do the same ... it uses ARRAYs to INSERT data so its a much faster process than unload/load ... I want to un,oad data from one Informix DB and load it onto another. If time is not a constraint to do this, is it necessary to drop the indices before loading the data ? 2. Is dbload a better way to load data as it also logs the details of rows loaded. 3.Also , is it a good idea to sort the data before loading the data ? My guess is there may be a difference in the indexing process, if data is already sorted. (Although we cannot ensure it always in the real world). Since we can sort data when we migrate, is it a good idea to sort and then load ? Thanks in Advance! and any other ideas are most welcome. Thanks sending to informix-list |
