| Mark, I am quite sure that when I had both TAPEDEV and LTAPDEV set to /dev/null onbar wouldn't work. Changing TAPEDEV to a disk file cleared the proble, and I didn't restart the instance. Although OnBar doesn't use the OnTape parameters directly, they do indirectly affect OnBar. That is, setting LTAPEDEV to /dev/null will automatically clear your logs before OnBar can back them up.
