| I've even constructed a message rule to automatically get rid of the unwanted messages about the virus. Unfortunately it caused even more grief when I deleted a valid message my mistake but when you are discarding so many messages it is so easy to discard too many. I've also tried adding the addresses to a blocked senders list but that then sends me an email to tell me it has blocked the sender. Can we ever hope to win? Maybe we should all get out heads together and come up with a better solution to the problem. regards Malcolm ----- Original Message ----- From: "Neil Truby" <neil.truby@ardenta.com> To: <informix-list@iiug.org> Sent: Monday, September 22, 2003 12:27 PM Subject: Re: Is it only me getting all these viruses ? > "malcolm.iiug" <malcolm.iiug@btopenworld.com> wrote in message > news:bkmhvi$pom$1@terabinaries.xmission.com... > > > > There was a lot of publicity in UK a few weeks ago about a Virus of this > > type. I hate flogging products on the net, but here is something that I've been using for a long time now. I got into it during their beta testing phase, and now they have gone into production mode for a few months. Check the webpage; the monthly cost is about $4 US. This product works so fantastically well (with Outlook as the mail client) that it's the only thing I've ever signed up to pay on the internet. I can't imagine being without it now. http://www.cloudmark.com/spamnetsig/ I strongly urge that everyone using Outlook 2000/2002/XP should sign up. My self-interest: to see more subscribers so they make a profit and therefore keep this invaluable service running. Seems they are offering bulk discounts too - presumably for Corporate licences etc. |
