Bo-o-o-o-o-gus! If you've worked with Informix then go with PostgreSQL as it will provide most of the features you've come to expect. Even MySQL 5.x only provides extremely rudimentary support for things like triggers, SPL, constraints, etc... But even better - use Informix. We are both a PostgreSQL and Informix shop (our groupware system used PostgreSQL). PostgreSQL is a very nice database and extremely stable, but neither of these can compare with the performance or *TOOLSET* of Informix. Their backup utilities are *S*A*D* compared to the options provided by Informix, and there isn't even an equivalent to "onstat". Come on, you can get Informix for LINUX very cheap - and it is easily worth every penny.
